Important announcement - Submission block
AC - Steambans News. Posted by KillahInstinct, Saturday at 03:23:19
As some might have noticed we recently disabled the ability to submit demo's, this was done based on the assumption that there is a problem with STEAM and it's allocation of STEAM_IDs. We have been investigating this supposed issue and have now reached a point where we can act on our findings.
This means that until further notice we are blocking all new submissions and locking the ones that came in after 21/11/05 until a proper solution has been found.
The issue appears to have arisen after the latest Half-Life 1 update and is also being investigated by Valve, who will supposedly release a fix for this early next week.
Alfred Reynolds said:
"The last release of both servers introduced this bug. We are working on a backend fix to prevent these people from staying connected to servers that should be deployed early next week. We also have a game server update scheduled for next week with a fix. I have confirmed reports from HL1 and I suspect HL2 has the same issue."
With this said we must stress out that depending on further research/information the chance exists that we will be forced to delete the submissions from the date the issue has arisen till the date it will be fixed, since we can NOT rely on "unique" IDs.
We apologize for the inconvenience this has brought with it, but as mentioned it has been totally out of our control, and we need to act to prevent wrong STEAM_IDs from being added to our database.

Kurzgefasst:
